Show Rules of conduct f or teachers in 1915 Dear Editor: Because of teacher unrest in Davis County I thought you woujd like to print this article. It waSffub-lished waSffub-lished in the Cabell County (W.Va.) Board of Education's; school bulletin in 1915. RULES OF CONDU CT FOR TEACHERS 1. You will not marry during the term of your conuact. 2. You are not to keep company with men. 3. You must be home between the hours of 8 p.m. ?,nd 6 a.m. unless attcnding,a schoo I function. 4. You may not loiter downtown in ice cream stores. 5. You may not travel beyond the city limits unless you have permission permis-sion of the chairman of t he board. 6. You may not ride i n a carriage or automobile with any man unless he is your fa thcr r ir brother. 7. You m ay no t smoke cigarettes. 8. You may not dress in bright colors. 9. You m ay under no circumstance' cir-cumstance' dyi .: your hair. . 10. You must wear at least two petticoats. 11. You r d resscs must not be any shorter than two inches above the ankle. 12.
