Show Clara Christiansen hi mimMm. : Clara Ostler Christiansen, 86 died April 23, 1989 in Fresno, Calif! She was visiting children at the time of her death. She was born March 1,1903 to Moroni H. and Mary Magdalene Ostler, She married Loyd Christiansen Chris-tiansen Jan. 3, 1923 at Ely, Nev. He died June 6, 1968. Twa sons also preceded her to death, Ruton LaVerl Christiansen and Earl O. "Bud" Christiansen. ; - Clara was an active member of the IDS Church, having served in many teaching capacities. She formed and conducted a youth choir in the Tooele Stake for many years. She also served as a temple worker and. supervisor for several years. r? She graduated from the Utah Agricultural College to Logan. She taught school v to ; a one-room schoolhouse to Ibapah, Utah, grades 1-8, for ' about 20 years. Her students were both white and Indian. In-dian. She also taught school at Stockton.- During her stay in Ibapah, she and jier husband served a mission to the Goshute Indians. She also served serv-ed as branch clerk and teacher in the Ibapah Branch. The following children survive hen one son, Clair Loyd "Jim" Christiansen, Fresno, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald CLARA OSTLER CHRISTIANSEN (June) Hubbard, Bountiful; Mrs. Richard (Loya) Przybyla, Fresno, Calif.;. Mrs. . Robert (Bonney) Droubay, Erda, Utah; daughter-in-law, Catheryren Oiristiansen, North Salt Lake; 31 grandchildren and 81 great-great-grandchildren. Clara lived her retirement years to Bountiful. , Funeral services were held Saturday, Sat-urday, April 29 at the Erda (Tooele) Ward Chapel. Interment was in the .Tooele City Cemetery. |
