A number of activities are planned for the year's celebration. Team roping will begin W. Bttt. 4th fete The team roping jackpot on June 30 will kick off the 4th of July celebration in West Bountiful. It will be held at 1024 W. 1 600 N. at 7:30 p.m. and is free to the public. There is a $6 entry fee for those entering the competition. For further information call 292-9063. Other events on the 4th of July include a flag-raising ceremony cere-mony at 7 a.m. at the West Bountiful Park bowery and will feature Vietnam prisoner of war veteran Lt. Col. Jay C. Hess. He was a prisoner of war from 1967 to I973 after his F-105 was shot down close to the China border. A chuckwagon breakfast will follow sponsored by the 9th Ward Scouts. Come early for lots of good food. The parade will start at 10 a.m. by Phillips Petroleum and end at the West Bountiful Stake Center on 600 West. Six trophies will be given for the best floats and animal entries. J An afternoon of fun. food, and entertainment will follow at the West Bountiful Park. There will be a band concert, shootout shoot-out and professional entertainment during the day. West Bountifulyouth City Council members are coordinating floats for the parade. They have been contacting businesses, local wards and youth organizations seeking entries. Anyone who would like to have a float in this year's parade should call 295-II 73, or 298-1420. |
