Ppen presidential position Committee forms to commence search I A 20-man search committee and a special advisor were named by the State Board of Higher Education Educa-tion to search out and interview possible candidates for the position of president of the University. ! After many diferent suggestions that students, faculty and staff be put on the committee, the board took the suggestion and appointed six faculty members, three students and one staff member. Students on the committee are Duane Moss, ASUU president; Paul Haglund, Academic Affairs Board chairman; and Coleen Tag-gart, Tag-gart, member of the ASUU Assembly Assem-bly from the College of Education. Dr. Billings pointed out that six students were suggested by ASUU but only three were chosen by the board. Whether or not Miss Taggart was related to Glen L. Taggart, president presi-dent of Utah State University, was asked of President Taggart. He replied, re-plied, "No comment." Faculty members of the committee commit-tee are Noel H. DeNevers, dean of the College of Engineering; B. Gale Dick, professor of physics; Sterling M. McMurrin, dean of the graduate gradu-ate school; William Mulder, professor pro-fessor of English; Claude M. Steele, instructor in psychology; and E. Wayne Thode, professor of law. William S. Partridge, vice president presi-dent of research, was chosen to represent the non-faculty staff. From the state board itself, Dr. Billings; Donald B. Holbrook, vice chairman of the board; Ira A. Hug-gins; Hug-gins; Charles Peterson; Bruce Stucki; George C. Hatch; and Roy W. Simons were chosen. Joseph E. Bernolfo and Dorothy Watkiss were chosen to represent the University's Institutional Council Coun-cil and Hack Wooley, president of the Alumni Association, will represent rep-resent the alumni. A steering committee was also named consisting of Billings, Holbrook, Hol-brook, Huggins, Peterson, Stucki, Mrs. Watkiss, DeNevers and Moss. The committee will meet Oct. 5 in the Park Bldg.
