I must be fair and confess that I assume that I have a somewhat different sense of humor and that even I didn't sit smug in my seat all night. That is not the point The director, Robert Hvde Wilson, seems to have pulled every string for entertainment's sake. The captain of the ship talked like John Wayne, off and on, and Bonnie, played by Jane Richards, had a hairdo that you couldn't help but laugh at. I audience, regardless of my feelings, just so those who read this review will have another choice. The audience seemed to enjoy themselves. That won't change my attitude or feelings. However, I have never been intentionally cruel before; but I have been driven to it. If this kind of thing is all a few potentially good actors can do with their talents I think they better start asking themselves what is wrong with the theatrical opportunity in this city. |
