Show Students claim meetings with heads 'disappointing' : WASHINGTON The seven University students who visited congressional leaders and government govern-ment officials on Monday expressed ex-pressed some disappointment at their meetings. "It was a very frutrating experience," ex-perience," said Randy Dryer, Associated Students of the University Uni-versity of Ntah president. (ASUU) "But all the congressmen were very hospitable and courteous. All were very concerned about our views. But as far as discussions on their personal views, I believe it was an experience in futility. AI Walcher said he was sur prised at the responsiveness of some, while he was amazed at the unresponsiveness of others. "Generalll Utah Congressmen, except for Sen. Moss, were not responsive and out for their own political game," said Mary Ellen Sloan. "Our words seemed to fall on deaf ears," she said. Several of the students will stay in Washington on Tuesday and Wednesday to meet with other government officials. Dryer has returned to the University because be-cause of Monday's burning of the Intercultural Center. |
