Show New Karate Club instructor will not stress violence Toshio Osaka, holder of fourth degree black belt, will be the instructor in-structor for a Karate Club, organized or-ganized last week to stress the "spirit" of Karate rather than its violence. The newly-formed club meets Tuesdays and Fridays from 4 to 5:30 p.m.Tlace of workouts will be posted in the Calling U. Mr. Osaka will accent the building of a strong, healthy body, and the creation of a calm, forceful force-ful yet benevolent attitude toward mankind. He is a graduate of the University of Nihon, Japan, and Yon Dan in Wodo style Karate. He plans to form a team to compete com-pete with other Karate teams such as UCLA. Mr. Osaka became one of eight members of the University of Nihon Ni-hon Karate Team, and upon graduation grad-uation in 1967 he coached his team to win the All Japan Karate championship for which he was awarded the fourth degree. Most second and third degree black Japanese national champions are belts. The official uniform, Karate Gi, will not be needed initially. The public is invited to either participate partici-pate or to watch. |
