Show Two University professors to be honored at lecture . .?r apPl Professor emeritus and former chairman of the Department of English, wiU deliver a public lecture to honor retiring English professors Dorothy G. Snow and Sydney W Angle-man, Angle-man, Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Mark H. Greene Hall Dr. Clapp will discuss the meaning and importance of literature and practical criticism in his speech entitled, "Literature and Reality: Some Bearings by Clock and Compass." A reception for the three professors will be held after the lecture in Parlor A in the Union. Dr. Snow and Dr. Angleman were appointed professors emeriti by Institutional Council this month, effective July 1. Specializing in literature of the 18th century and' the Romantic Movement, Dr. Snow has edited University publications and was assistant editor of the Western Political Quarterly. She is a member of the Utah Academy of Science, Arts and Letters, the Modern Language Association, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Angleman has served as president of the Utah Conference on Higher Education and as chairman of a steering committee of the Pacific Northwest Conference on Higher Education. He was director of general education at the University for more than 20 years. . |
