Show Aging Rivalry Goes On Saturday's Utah-Oregon contest will be the 12th of a series dating back to 1933. The Redskin-Duck rivalry stands 8-3 for Oregon. In 1934, '35, and '36, Oregon won by 26-7, 8-7, and 6-0 scores. Eighteen Eigh-teen years later in 1954, Utah pulled one of the 'biggest upsets in Ute history. They beat a three-touchdown three-touchdown favorite Webfoot team by a 7-6 score in Eugene, Oregon. In 1955, Oregon eked out a 14-13 victory in Ute Bowl in the Ute opener for the year. In 1959, Utah tasted defeat again, 21-6. Oregon continued their skein in 1960 by winning 20-17. But in 1961 Utah ended the draught to the tune of a 14-6 score. In 1962, Oregon demolished the Utes 35-8. In 1965 Oregon won in Ute Stadium, 31-14 while the Utes won last year at Eugene by 17-14. |
