Show No Grades, Lectures In Free University The Free University is exactly that no grades, no set discussions, discus-sions, no faculty lectures. Completing Com-pleting another phase of education, the participants will have a chance to choose as well as discuss topics. This experiment in learning will make it possible for students and faculty members to get together in an atmosphere free of classroom restraints. The extra-curricular program will offer a wide range of topics. Included in the fall program pro-gram will be "Man in Tomorrow's World," a study of human values in a technological world using excerpts ex-cerpts from Arthur Waskow, Donald Don-ald Michael, and Robert Theobold. Viet Nam with Kesler John Kesler will conduct "A Student's Eyeview of Vietnam" explaining ex-plaining his experiences this summer sum-mer with other student leaders in Viet Nam and other Southeast Asian countries. Language in Proper Prospective," a study of the work in general semantics will be offered as will "What Present Day Theologians are Thinking." "An Interdisciplinary Approach to Peace," covering the viewpoint of many different academic disciplines; disci-plines; "A History of Opposition To War in America," concerning the various antiwar movements in American History; and "America's Foreign Policy, Political and Economics Eco-nomics in a Revolutionary World," are suggested quarter topics. "Patterns "Pat-terns of Communist Party Power Structure," will attempt at an objective ob-jective look through documents and publications of the formal and informal power structure and workings of the communist party. Students To Decide Classrooms Registration for fall quarter will begin Oct. 3 or 4. At this time class members will decide when and where they will meet. Applications should be turned into the ASUU offices. Activities of the program are under the Free University Council. This council exists to co-ordinate and organize the program, not to initiate topics. |
