Show Great Debate It seems to be a great week for honors being brought back to the University. The athletes gave us the Western Athletic Conference championships in basketball and swimming, and now the debate teams have brought back the senior sweepstakes trophy from the Linfield College Tournament in McMinnville, Ore. This is the oldest and largest continuing debate tournament in the Western United States, and the winning of it may well be compared to winning the WAC basketball crown. Unfortunately, if things remain as they have been in the past, the trophies will not be available for viewing. Seems they are kept in the office of the debate team, funds not being available for having inscriptions engraved. But anyway, debate teams, thanks for bringing home the goodies. |
