Show Bull Sessions Have you ever felt like talking talk-ing to a professor about something some-thing besides your low grade on that last quiz or extending the deadline on your term P2HAVE YOU ever wondered What your professor does when he's not lecturing to his Have you ever wondered what a pharmacy professor thinks about government? Or what an English professor things about law? Or how a business professor feels about opera? MOST STUDENTS hesitate to talk to professors without some relatively good excuse. When a student goes to see a faculty member in his office, of-fice, there is a decided uneasiness un-easiness on the student's part. He cannot help feeling he h taking up the professor's time. And yet, professors have expressed desire to talk to students just as much as students stu-dents have to talk with professors. pro-fessors. In hopes of bridging the communication gap for mutual benefit of professors and students, stu-dents, Bull Sessions with professors pro-fessors will be held in the Academic Center Monday through Thursday nights. When students want to take a study break, they can now relax by seeking out the professors who will be on tap those four nights each week. These professors are not there to lecture, but to exchange ex-change ideas. A professor's job can be made much easier and much more beneficial if he knows what students are thinking think-ing about various topics. And the student's task can be more fun when he discovers dis-covers that his profs are people peo-ple and not Just academic titles surrounded by books and stern looks. We encourage students to take part in the Students' Association As-sociation '"Inquiry," starting tonight. Above all, these sessions ses-sions are to be conversations, dialogue; students must contribute con-tribute as well as professors. We believe that students will find it well worth it to spend 15 minutes or so of the time usually spent smoking a cigarette or staring at a wall, in conversation with one of the |
