Phil Bernal will go for his specialty, the sidehorse, and David Da-vid Lavin is a tumbler and floor exerciser. RIBBONS and medals will be awarded to winners and those who place in each event, including includ-ing the all-around. Medals will be presented by the AAU. Admission is free. f The Ute gymnastics squad will play host to the Intermountain Gymnastics meet held Friday at r 7 p.m. in the Fieldhouse. Par- a ticipants from Brigham Young, Utah State along with Univer-f" Univer-f" sity contestants will enter the 3 meet. There will also be several 3 unattached entries from top D gymnasts in the state. 1 This will be the biggest gym- - nasties meet ever held in the 1 area. L Ute coach Vaughn Johnson al so expects participants from several sev-eral Utah high schools and even a junior high schools. 3 CONTESTANTS may enter individual in-dividual events or all-around competition. University contestants contes-tants must enter the six Olympic Olym-pic events for consideration for the all-around title. The Redskin squad, recently started as an intercollegiate sport on campus, is expected to walk off with many honors. SIMON BRONSON, branded the most improved gymnast for the Utes this campaign, will try for honors in tumbling, sidehorse, trampoline and long horse vaulting vault-ing competitions. Bronson placed high in the WAC meet in the tumbling and long horse vaulting events. Keith Ahone will participate in the floor exercise event in which he placed third in the conference meet. |
