Show Dean Eardley To Resign From Post Dr. Armand J. Eardley, dean of the College of Mines and Minerals Industries, has requested-that he be relieved of his administrative responsibilities. Dr. Eardlev, however, has asked to remain as a professor of geology in the College of Mines. , He reported that he is aware of the complications of changing administrators ad-ministrators because of the new administration that will be assuming assum-ing office at the University, but he is willing to stay on as dean as long as necessary. THE BOARD of 'Regents, js expected ex-pected to consider the question of Dean '-Eardley' S successor ' at various var-ious , meetings . in the next few months. ? .'Dr. Eardley, a native ;UtaKn', received re-ceived his" ;B.A. degree from the University ''in, . 1927, and his PhD. degree from Princeton in '1930. ' He came to the University as professor and head of the department depart-ment of .geology in 1949 and became be-came dean of the College of Mines and Minerals Industries in 1954. Dr. Eardley is a past president of the Rocky Mountain section of the American Association of Petroleum Petro-leum Geologists. Dr. Eardley explained that he has desired to be relieved of his administrative ad-ministrative duties ,which are called for as a dean for sometime. |
