Show THIS VEEK IN MINERSVILLE By EMILY GILLINS A lovely open house honoring honor-ing newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Don Gressman took place Friday Fri-day evening at the home of I'.Ir. and Mrs. G. W. Carter. The attractive at-tractive bride was attended by Miss Caroline Edwards, daugh-" daugh-" ' ter of Mrs- La Von Edwards of v Stockton. Utah, and best man duties were performed by Hay-ward Hay-ward Marshall. The couple left Sunday for West Los Angeles, where they will make their homo-While homo-While in Minersville they were also feted by Mr. and Mrs-Truman Mrs-Truman Eradfield at a dinner party Wednesday evening at the Bradfield home- Others present were Mr- and Mrs- G. W. Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Neil GfeSsman and Mrs. Edith Eradfield. Erad-field. The same group were Thanksgiving guests at the home of the Carters. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Roberts j i are great-grandparents for the .- first time. The new son arrived ar-rived recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Garrett in Salt Lake. 9 Ralph Pearson, who recently underwent a hernia operation at the Iron County Hospital, is now recuperating at his home. 9 Mr- and Mrs- Mervin Edwards arrived home from a vacation in California on Thanksgiving morning, but found that their home had been damaged by fire during their absence- The boys had built a fixe early Wed-jk. Wed-jk. nesday morning, which ignited V. the wall behind the stove. The blaze was discovered before it spread to other parts of tho house, but considerable damage resulted in the living room. 9 Mr. and Mrs. George Wood were hosts on Thanksgiving to Mr. and Mrs- Wilford Robinson, Mrs. Etta Rollins, and Alice-O Alice-O Doyle Rollins and Lois of Provo visited several days during' dur-ing' the week at Minersville. Doyle was a guest of Mr. and Mr;-:. Welter Pearson, and Lois at the home of her friend, Dixie Gofi. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Marshall Mar-shall had as guests on the holiday holi-day Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gil-lins. Gil-lins. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Carter, Car-ter, Mr. and Mrs- Jack Carter, Mr. and Mrs- Wayne Cillins and their families, and Mr- and Mrs-Cliff Mrs-Cliff Burbidge of Miiford. At the home of Mr- and Mrs-Thunran Mrs-Thunran Eyre were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hayward of Ely, Nov., Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Stephenson Steph-enson of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Gillins, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Gillins, Mrs. Alba Gillins, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Eyre and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Eyre. Mr. and Mrs- Rulo'n Eyre spent the holiday as guests of their daughter Dorothy, and her husband in Ogden, and also visited at the home of Mr- and Mrs- Norman Gillins. 9 Mr. and Mrs. Joe Haycock ere now renting the home of Mrs- Etta Rollins. The Kurt Eohn home, their former residence, resi-dence, was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Ted Myers, who had to move because the Clair Carter home, rented by the Myers family, I was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Warren War-ren Gray. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Haycock and 'family were Thanksgiving dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Davis. Mr. and Mrs- Bouie and grandson Eob visited in Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs- Ward Marquardson over the long week end- 9 Mr- and Mrs. Ruben Dotson and family spent the holiday in Salt Lake- Penny and Adele, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Gillins, enjoyed the long week end in Salt Lake- guests of Mr. and Mrs- L. A. - Patterson. 9 Guests at the home of Mr. and Mis. Victor Myers for Thanksgiving were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Hayward Carter. Ted Myers, My-ers, and Mr. and Mrs- Max Carter. Car-ter. Mrs- Bonnie Myers and three children spent the holiday in Salt Lake with an aunt. O Fifty-one persons were served holiday dinner at the home of Mrs- Augusta Marshall. The gala affair at which all did their share, included Messrs-and Messrs-and Mesdames Earl Limb, Ernest Ern-est Johnson, Jack Aubry, Eugene Eu-gene Allied, Leo 'White, Leon Ashworth, Bcvan Mcintosh, Alton Al-ton A.tkin, Craig Marshall, George Anderson, Ray Barnson. and their families- Mr- and Mrs- Alton Marshall were at Beaver but joined the crowd later. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Marshall and family were guests at the home o'f Mr. and Mrs- Gus Lambson. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pryor and children and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pryor motored to Ruth, Tt-v.. to spend the holiday with Mr. and Mrs. Byron Limb- Mrs. Amanda Nolder was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose. Dalton of Beaver. Mr. and Mrs- Marion Walker and family were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs- Mont Griffiths of Miiford, along with Mr. and Mrs. David Griffiths. 9 Mrs- Marie Rollins enjoyed the day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Fails, and was happily hap-pily surprised in the evening when Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Taylor Tay-lor and two children of Farm-ington Farm-ington drove down to visit her. Mrs. Rollins is now in Miiford visiting her daughter Ksren I and family. . The following families enjoyed en-joyed a delightful dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Truman: Tru-man: Mr- and Mrs. Walt Messenger Mes-senger and son Robert, Mr. and Mrs." Ross Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Marshall and Mr. and home of Mr. and Mrs- Marion Walker were Mr. and Mrs- Joe Haycock and family. Mr. and Mrs- Leland Dalton and Mr- and Mrs. Clauss Marshall Mar-shall visited in Cedar City Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs- Robert Goodwin. The Daltons then drove home a smart-looking new automobile. Mr. and Mrs. James Eyre and family cooked their Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing dinner at the home of Mrs-Lucy Mrs-Lucy Williams, so she could enjoy en-joy dinner with them- Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Gray and family were guests of parents par-ents in St. George for the holiday. holi-day. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence East-on East-on and family of Arizona were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Gillins. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Gillins were in Salt' Lake over the week end, visiting with Mrs. Ethel Mathews, Math-ews, who recently underwent an operation. 9 Mr. and Mrs. Sim Murdock had as guests on Thanksgiving Mr. and Mrs. Ray Murdock. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Boyter and family traveled to Salt Lake where 34 members of the Boyter Boy-ter family gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Steele. Mr. and Mrs- Vendon Myers were hosts to the Myers family, and with the assistance of those attending served 50 persons. Those present were Mr- and Mrs. Ernest Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Os Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thompson, Gene Myers, Mrs. ; Mrs- Ken Knight- Sir. and Mrs. Floyd Wood and family motored to Henderson, Hender-son, Nov-, to spend the day with Mr- and Mrs. Grant Wood and family, and were delighted with the new home the Woods I recently purchased. j At the Charles K. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Myers accompanied Mr. ard Mrs. Albert Al-bert Smith of Eeaver to Trinidad, Trini-dad, Colo., for the holiday, to be with their Grandmother Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Stubbs and family of Salt Lake were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Goldie Marshall. Harold Baker, who recently underwent a disc operation of the spine, is recuperating at his home. It will necessary for Mr. Baker to wear a cast 'for some time, and it is hoped that he will recover fully from his long illness. Tlie Seventh and Eighth grades held a ballgame and social so-cial Wednesday evening in the Minersville gymnasium under direction of instructor Joe Haycock. Hay-cock. Refreshments served were pie a la mode and hot chocolate. choco-late.
