Show Milford's Xmas Lights To Glow Dec. 8 With December just around the corner, the Milford City Council made preparations this week for the annual Yule celebration, cele-bration, delegating authority for handling portions of the observance ob-servance to various groups, and set the date for the turning on the street decorations. The lights will begin to glow at 6 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 8, according ac-cording to City Councilman Jack Davis, and local merchants are asked to ' coordinate their annual window decorations, with that date. Business establishments and residences throughout the town will be decorated 'for the traditional tra-ditional lighting contest, which this year will be under direction direc-tion of the American Legion Auxiliary. Date for judging the contest will be announced by Jerry Kirk, Auxiliary president. At the downtown celebration on Dec. 8th a short program, presented by Jesse Long and featuring . the Milford High School Band, will precede the turning on of the street lights, and the students and assembled townspeople will sing Christmas Carols after the ceremony. The annual Santa Claus party for the children, with sacks of candy for every child, will be under direction of the Lady Lions. |
