Show ! Beaver County 4-Hers Now in Chicago Cliff Yardley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Yardley of Beaver, and Jennie Sue Smith, daughter daugh-ter o'f Mrf and Mrs. George E. ! Smith of South Milford, are in Chicago this week attending I the National 4-H Club Congress. Twenty-two 4-H Club members from Utah are attending and will participate with 1200 4-H Club boys and girls from thru-out thru-out the nation. I Cliff was named state win-I win-I ner of the meat animal con-j con-j test. His trip is sponsored by Thomas E. Wilson of Chicago, founder of the Wilson Packing Co. Cliff has completed seven years of 4-H Club work. He has fattened one or two steers for livestock shows for the past six year, and has had about 30 head of steers on pasture the last two summers. He also has pureb.-ed Hereford breeding projects. He h2 been a junior 4-H leader lead-er for two years; has been a members of county livestock i judging teams that participated t in the State Fair. Cliff's club leaders have been Leland Smith, John R. Yardley, and Gilbert Yardley- Jennie Sue has completed nine years of 4-H Club work in foods, clothing, home improve- ( ment, gardening, recreation, and home beautification. She was named state winner in the xood preparation contest this year at the State Fair. Her trip is sponsored by Mark Kelvinator division of American Amer-ican Motors. Jennie Sue has represented Beaver County at the State Fair for three years in the meal preparation contest, . and this year she won the contest. She has been a 4-H junior teacher for one year, and leader lead-er for two years. Jennie Sue's present club leaders are Mrs. Mable Smith of South Milford and Jolene Yardley of Beaver. Other leaders have been Mrs. Alice Elmer, Mrs. Bernice Smith and Mrs. Elva . Lofthouse, all of South Milford. |
