Show Emily Edwards Morris Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Edwards Morris, 77, were held in the Greenville L D S Chapel Friday, Nov. 23, under direction of Bishop James W. Blackner. " Mrs. Morris died in the Iron County Hospital after a lingering linger-ing illness- The prayer at the home was given by Bishop Alfred Horton. Prelude and postlude music at the church were played by Mrs. Ann Williams. A quartet, Ralph Fordham, King Morris, Ray Barton and Kay Williams, sang "Oh, My Father." James Williams gave the invocation in-vocation and Blaine Blackett the benediction. After a violin selection by Mrs. Mary Jorgenson of Pin-tura. Pin-tura. President Carlos Murdock spoke, and Esta Cox and Vilda Smith sang a vocal duet, "In the Garden." Joseph A. Manzione also ipoke, and Mrs. Smith sang "My Faith." The tribute to Mrs- Morris was by Macel Horton.. The grave v;as dedicated by Bishop Richard Jones of Milford. Mil-ford. Pallbearers were grandsons, grand-sons, and husband of granddaughters- Burial was in the Greenville" cemetery. Mrs. Morris was born in Greenville August 19, 1879, to William' and Ellen Miller Edwards, Ed-wards, She married Joseph A. Morris at Greenville on August 16, 1899, and the marriage waa later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. Mr. Morrie died in 1955. She was active in LDS Church work until her recent illness. , With her husband she moved from Greenville a few years ago after both developed ill health. They had spent three months with each of their children chil-dren since leaving this community-Surviving are a son, William O. Morris of Orem; daughters Mrs. W. E- Blackett, Orem; Mrs. I. C. Parkinson, Pintura; and Mrs. Vyron Baker, Draper; also 12 grandchildren. The Relief Society served a delicious plate lunch at the Relief Re-lief Society building, to all out of town people who attended the services. |
