Show BEAVER COUNTY VETS GET TAX EXEMPTION Thirty - eight Beaver County war veterans were approved for tax exemptions at the regular meeting of the County Commission, Commis-sion, May 5th, with exemptions ranging from 25 to 100. Utah statutes provide that the real and personal property of disabled war veterans or their widows and orphans are exempted ex-empted from taxation up to the assessed valuation of $3,000. For many years Beaver County has granted tax exemptions exemp-tions to physically and mentally disabled veterans as certified by the Veterans Administration. It now appears that the Veterans Veter-ans Administration is issuing j tax exemption certificates ; showing 100 disability to all , veterans reaching 65 years of age. According to C. Victor Smith, county clerk, tax abatements totaling $1636.20 were granted to disabled veterans in Beaver County in 1955. He states that this year several veterans not heretofore granted abatements have "been added to the list, and that the disability of others has been increased to 100, and it appears likely that the total amount of tax abatement for 1956 will exceed $2000.
