Show CLEAN-UP WEEK FOR MILFORD STARTS SUNDAY "You throw away your money if you drop litter on the streets of Milford," Wes Bolton, streets commissioner, said today in reminding residents of the opening open-ing next Sunday of the city's annual Clean-up, Paint-up, Fix-up Fix-up program. "Every piece of trash which is thrown in the street requires additional work for city employees. em-ployees. This delays other necessary nec-essary chores of the street and sanitation departments which would benefit every citizen. "Use trash containers when you are a pedestrian and litter-bags litter-bags in autos," Commissioner Bolton urged. "Don't let your tax dollars fall in the street. Instead, In-stead, let them work for you. If everyone cooperates, our men can do more constructive work, resulting in better and more beautiful streets." With Clean-Up Week almost here, committees have lined up the various duties and begun working toward a completely "face-lifted" city when the campaign cam-paign is concluded on Sunday, May 20th. Schools and grounds, the two school faculties. Friday has been designated clean-up day at the schools. Attention was called to a city ordinance making it mandatory that persons owning vacant lots keep them clean of weeds and trash. Portions of the ordinance ordi-nance follow: It rhall be unlawful . . to allow weeds or noxious vegetable vege-table growth to remain in or on such property, or in or on the alleys abutting thereon,, or the sidewalk areas in the front thereof to the curb line of the street . . . Any person violating . . . upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than $50, or by imprisonment impris-onment in the town jail not more than 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
