A program, exchange of gifts and refreshments will enhance the Christmas spirit, in honor of our dear parents who weath- j ered the storm for us. f Basketball games started the past week for our Beaver High School boys from here, Goldie ' Adams and Ted Garrett each scoring 20 points. Their first practice game was with Free-df.nia-, Ariz. The boys said they should have won, but the game j ended with the Arizonans one print ahead. In a game with Monroe the Beavers came out 14 points in th..- lead. Mrs. Marshall is the mother of nine living children and has ben a faith-j faith-j ful worker in different ofiices of the church. This year she was selected as Mother of the Year. 9 Contractors repairing the Minersville canal have been busy while the weather was fairly good, but report that if it gets bad they will move equipment south and finish here when-warm weather arrives. i Mrs. Fein Craw accompanied her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Craw, to Salt Lake last week to purchase a new automatic washer as a present from her daughter Thelda in Nevada. L:e Marshall has recently made a nice improvement in his store by installing a "help yourself" your-self" counter. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pryor motored to Salt Lake for a two day business trip. Mili'crd's 12 year old Scouts came to Minersville Saturday morning for a practice basketball basket-ball game with our boys. They all had a good time trying to pitch baskets.
