Show WILDFOWL HUNT IMPROVING IN SOUTH UTAH In the past few weeks, goose and duck hunting in the Beaver County area has improved, with emphasis on the honkers as many hunters report a poor showing of ducks. At Garrison and in the Burbank swamPs 80 miles west, duck hunting is excellent, and Clear Lake, 60 miles north, has almost a capacity capac-ity load of the mallards and pintails and teel. Locally, goose hunters seem to be having better shooting than the duck hunters. State Fish and Game field reports indicate a large portion of the waterfowl population on the marshes of northern and central Utah moved south with the recent cold weather. The reports show that many hunters have continued to have good shooting after setting up on the limited available open water. The Utah waterfowl season continues through Jan. 2, 1956. The Departmest predicted some good shooting would still be enjoyed in the northern marshes marsh-es as well as in the southern part of the state. |
