The prospective' bride is the fourth grade teacher in the Mil-ford Mil-ford Elementary school, and formerly of Idaho. Mr. Beard is a son of Mrs. Sarah F. Beard of Milford. The marriage will be solemnized solemn-ized at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Leland Beard, on Feb. 19. . THE HORN SILVER CAMP of the Daughters of Utah Pio- neers met Jan. 21st at the home of Mrs. Ethel Nielsen. A delicious luncheon was served, after which a shorv business bus-iness meeting was held, dis- ! cussing history and other important im-portant future activities of the camp. Those present were Captain Nina Bingham, and Daughters Carlie Waddoup, Metta Weston, Wes-ton, Hannah Smith, Hilda O'Leary, Lot ha Smyth, Bernice Stewart, and two guests. Mrs. Emma Walker and Mrs. M.nnie Swindlehurst, and the hostess, Mrs. Nielsen. Mrs. V'eton pre-rcnted pre-rcnted the L-sson. PINOCHLE was played last Monday night at the home of Mrs. Lola Banks. A luncheon was served before the game of cards to Mrs. Gwen Ogaen, Mrs. Bculah Wunderlich, Mrs. Ethel Mclntyre, Mrs. Margaret Mahoney, Mrs. Dorothy Kizer, Mrs. Dorothy Morris, Mrs. Phyl-1 Phyl-1 lis Keetch and Mrs. Toni Uffens. Mr. und Mrs. Howard Bmg-1 hani are the proud parents of the'r first child, i daughter, born Jan. 24th a: Klamath Falls, Ore. Michell Ann was chosen as the name for the 6 lb 7 oz infant. A DELIGHTFUL three-course luncheon was enjoyed by the Rebekahs at the home of Mrs. Garnet Garfield on Monday afternoon. aft-ernoon. It was a going-away party for Mrs. Bertha Cottrell, who expects to leave soon for her new home in Provo. For 35 years Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cottrell have been active and devoted members of Re-bekah-Oddfellowship, and they will bo greatly missed in lodge circles. The " Farewell Bertha" party was a time for both laughter and tears, as well as good wishes wish-es from the 32 guests who were present. MRS. ANN BOLTON acted as hostess for her pinochle club last Thursday evening. Members Mem-bers enjoying the evening were Mrs. Beatrice Spainhower, Mrs. Joan Holland, Mrs. Lois Hollis, Mrs. Becky Price, Mrs. Phyllis Price, Mrs. Jerry Memmott, Mrs. Marjorie Harton, Mrs. Virginia Beddingfield. Prizes were received by Mrs. Spainhower, Mrs. Holland and Mrs. Price. Mrs. Bolton served a luncheon at the beginning of the evening, and a birthday cake with coffee, later, it being Mrs. Spainhower's birth anniversary. MRS. MARJORIE HARTON, Mrs. Phyllis Erickson, Mrs. La-Vera La-Vera Meeker and Mrs. Virginia Fowles were the committee for the Firemen and Lady Firemen March of Dimes card party held Tuesday evening in the I O O F Hall. The ladies wish to thank their lodges for the donations ot r- prizes and food, and thank the public for their support. The committee announced that the party was "a success," and proceeds, which have teen turned over to hte March of Dimes treasurer, will be announced an-nounced later. |
