LA DAWN FRAZIER had as her guests Monday evening eve-ning members of her sewing club, including Mrs. Beverly Bozarth, Mrs. Shirleen Barnes, Mrs. Barbara Jones, Mrs. Beatrice Beat-rice Spainhower, Mrs. Ramona Smith, Mrs. Marilyn Fothering-ham Fothering-ham and Mrs. Janet Root. After the social evening Mrs. Frazier served a light lunch . AT THE HOME of Mrs. Helen" Leech, bridge was played last Thursday evening. The prizes were received by Mrs. Lettie Fotheringham, Mrs. Stella Persons Per-sons and Mrs. Lena Morris. Other guests included Mrs. Frances Jefferson, Mrs. Nina Bingham, Mrs. Hazel Baxter, and Mrs. Sue Morris. A CANYON PARTY was given in honor of Robert Slinkerd Slink-erd last week, it being his birth anniversary, and also honoring Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sheren of Pasadena, who were visiting the Slinkerds. Others enjoying the outing were Mrs. Robert Slinkerd, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Slinkerd, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Kirk, Mr. and Mrs. Turner. THE LAST MEETING of Ruth Chapter No. 6, Order of Eastern Star, in the old Masonic building, build-ing, turned out to be quite an occasion. Mr. and Mrs. I. Alt-man Alt-man entertained the Chapter members and their families at a delicious twilight dinner served by the sisters. Beautiful flowers flow-ers from the garden of Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Murdock adorned the tables, and gave a note of fine hospitality to the evening. Gay sparklers instead of the usual candles on the various cakei added a springhtly touch to the delicious dessert. Mr. Altman, it was known, was thus graciously gra-ciously celebrating his 65th birthday, and received the hearty hear-ty congratulations of the Chapter. Chap-ter. . Out-of-town visitors for the A BEAUTIFUL double-ring ceremony was performed to unite Miss Connie Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson and Mr. Gale Mower, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mower of Roosevelt. Bishop Gael Elmer performed the cere-I cere-I mony at 8:30 o'clock, June 18th, j at the home of the bride's par- ents. j 'The bride was lovely in a ! baby blue net and taffeta bal- j ' lerina length'dress, and finger-: finger-: tip bridal veil. Her bouquet was i of red roses tied with blue rib-' rib-' bon matching her dress. Mrs. Paul Orton, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and , chose a dainty lavender after-i after-i noon dress and a corsage of Tal- lisman roses. evening were Mrs. Margaret j Rohn of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Margai et Cheatham of Puente, ! Cal.; Mrs. Barbara Snook of Denver, Colo.; and Mr. and Mrs. Gienn Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Madsen and Mrs. Maude Jensen of Richfield, No one could have been more sweetly gracious to members and visitors alike than the Worthy Matron, Marie Char-chalis, Char-chalis, who has done so much to make thoroughly enjoyable the work during- the past year. The next meeting of the Chapter-will be in September in the new Masonic Temple, now under construction. The memory of 43 years of activities in the old hall brought a touch of regret that the old days were over. But the Chapter looks forward with great anticipation to new and better ways of service to the beloved Order in the new Chapter home. (Mrs. Vena Wilson). Attending the wedding were relatives and close friends, which included the bridal party, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Mower, Mrs, Josephine Thompson, grandmother of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Orton, Mrs. Charles Terry, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Baudino, Mrs. Ivan Holdaway and Mrs. Gael Elmer. After the wedding ceremony, a five-tiered wedding cake trimmed trim-med with blue and yellow dec-j dec-j orations and the traditional tiny j bride and groom, was served j with ice cream and punch. The newlyvveds left for a wedding trip to the Grand Canyon. Can-yon. They will spend the summer sum-mer touring the Utah race tracks, and this winter will move to Tucson, Ariz., where Mr. Mower will follow his profession of racehorse jockey. MEMBERS of the Rebekah Lodge met in the I O O F hall Wednesday evening, June 18, for regular meeting night. Following the business session, ses-sion, a recess was called for a memorial service, and an impressive im-pressive candlelight service was given, in which tribute was paid to the work and service of departed de-parted members of the local Victory Rebekah lodge No. 43 and also the 22 Rebekah members mem-bers from other lodges in, the State of Utah. Those assisting in the service were Emma Griffiths, Verna I Tomsik, Dora Johnson, Dora Pool, Hilda O'Leary, Cree Elmer, El-mer, Garnet Garfield, Margaret Lyman, Virginia U'Ren, Gladys Shingleton, and Louise Del-gnrdo, Del-gnrdo, noble grand. Following adjournment the entertainment committee, Verna Tomsik, Juanita Gleason, Carlie Waddoups, and Sofia Johnson, served delicious strawberry ! shortcake to 30 members. j MR. AND MRS. NELSON STOTT announce the engagement engage-ment of their daughter, Or Lynn, to Mr. Lee Wayne Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Arshal Evans of Minersville. No definite wedding date has been set, and arrangements are pending Mr. Evans' call to active military duty. MR. AND MRS. O. C. KOCH i celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary Sunday, having all their children and grandchildren at home. The group included Mr. and Mrs. Floyd B. Hansen and sons Douglas and Lee K. of Richfield; Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Hawkins and son Lee K. of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cook and daughter Betty of South Milford, and Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Handley of Milford. A delicious turkey dinner was i served, followed by a tiered anniversary cake, and pictures were taken of Mr. and Mrs. Koch and the group. , IT WAS A BIRTHDAY party for Billie Long, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Long, on Friday, June 20th, celebrating his fourth anniversary. Ella Jean Parkinson Parkin-son supervised the outdoor games. Friends present to wish Billie I a happy birthday were Judy ( Nancy Bohart, Vernon Daven-I Daven-I port, Marilyn and Jimmie Neal, Jack Meeker, Jean, Joan and I Bobby Bartholomew, and broth-i broth-i er Jay. Bubble gum and lollypops were given as favors, and Mrs. i Long served ice cream, birth-j birth-j day cake and punch after the games. I THE REGULAR monthly meeting of the Milford Valley Past Presidents' Parlor No. 21, G I A to B of L F & E, was held at the home of Mrs. Eva Banks. Mrs.. Banks served a delicious luncheon to the following: Mrs. Marvel Connell Mrs. Katherine Shingleton, Mrs. Ethel Killam, Mrs. Wanda Holm, Mrs. Mae Col-burn, Col-burn, Mrs. Florence Barnes, Mrs. Magdalena White, Mrs, Garnetta Hollis, Mrs. Phyllis Erickson, and a guest, Mrs. John Smith. The regular business meeting was held after the luncheon. MRS. R. J. MAGILL was j hostess to members of the j Thursday Night Bridge club and ( s one guest last Thursday eve- j ning. THE SMILING NEEDLES 4-H ! club meeting was held at Patsy i Puffer's home last Saturday aft-1 ernoon. We basted and fit our dresses. Some of us cut our dresses out.
