Show Seconfc liUarb By MRS. GERTRUDE FISHER Relief Society officers and class leaders of the Second Ward attended a Tri-Stake convention con-vention held at Parowan on May 14th. The Bishop also attended attend-ed these meetings. There were 10 officers and leaders in- attendance. at-tendance. Very many helpful suggestions were given to carry on Relief Society work in our ward. The Genealogical committee, met at the Parley B. Fisher home on May 14th. A. A. Jones was in charge of the meeting. Six Books of Remembrance were purchased by those attending. The next meeting will be held May 21 at Lovell Crane's Refreshments Re-freshments were served at the close of the meeting to the 11 members present. The Saegull girls of the Primary Pri-mary had a surprise party on their teacher, Mrs .Elva Loft-house, Loft-house, on March 15th. It was held at Beth Edwards' home. Cuma Goodwin was also in attendance. at-tendance. Each girl presented Mrs. Lofthouse with a lovely gift. These girls will be in the MIA next year. Patsy Puffer; song, by the girl Beth Edwards presented the ; di plcmas to the girls, and Betty Hardy received them into the MTht'boys sang "America the Beautiful," and the Guide oath was led by Jerry Berger The Articles of Faith were recited by all the boys, who were then Presented Pre-sented to Bishop Elmer by their teacher, Myrtle Hansen. Beth Edwards presented them with Their diplomas and they were accepted into the M I A by Bishop Bish-op Elmer, who gave them good counsel and advice. There were two stake officers present Beth Morgan and Sister Roberts. The boys who gradauted were Mack Whittaker, ysCr' Jerrv Berger, Boyd Horton, Martin Mar-tin Merryweather, Darrell Pace, Jack Rollins and David Rollins. The Primary organization will hold a lawn paty by the swimming swim-ming pool on May 26th. All bring their own lunch, and the officers will furnish punch The Aaronic Priesthood outing out-ing was postponed on account of co"d weather, but will be held at a later date, with time to be announced. Ward Conference for the Second Sec-ond Ward will be held Saturday evening and Sunday, May and 25. The first meeting will be hel-1 Saturday evening at 8 o'clock. A dance and social will follow this meeting, with the Melchizedek and Aaronic Priesthood Priest-hood members and their wives and sweethearts over 21 being invited. Sunday morning service serv-ice will convene at 11:30. Afternoon Aft-ernoon session will be at 2:30. All ward officers are asked to be in attendance at these meetings. meet-ings. A large number were present at Sunday School last Sunday. The 2V2 minute talks were given by Michael Fisher and Connie Holbook. John Wilcock led the sacrament gem. Rdy Myers and Harold Edwards administered the sacrament and deacons were Leland Beard, Clair Williams and Gary Gillins. There were 48 members present in the adult department. A Stake Welfare meeting was held in Minersville May 18th. Those attending from the Second Sec-ond Ward were Bishop Gael Elmer, El-mer, Kent Hanney, Calvin Bartholomew, Bar-tholomew, Parley B. Fisher, Harold Edwards, and Ella Jean Parkinson. J. C. Smith, resident resi-dent high councilman, also attended at-tended the meetings. The Welfare committee of the Second ward held their weekly welfare meeting Sunday morning. morn-ing. There were eight members present. At Sunday evening services I the Seagull girls and Guide boys were graduation. The following program was carried out: "Oath or the Seagulls," by the class; class song.
