BETH FISHER Last Saturday morning the following boys procured and chopped kindling for widows in the ward: Russell Griffiths, James Cox, Fary Gillins, Mar- tin Merryweather, Karl Merry- j weather, Leland Beard and Dennis Den-nis Ray Belliston. The bishopric bishop-ric has asked that if anyone knows of widows who need kindling to please let them know. Stake visitors in attendance at Priesthood meeting on Feb. 4 were Karl White, Ear Baldwin and J. C. Smith. Fireside on Feb. 3 was held at the home of Florence and Boyd Evans in South Milord. After a discussion of genealogy and the filling out of pedigree and family group sheets, Mrs. Evans served refreshments to the 14 persons present. Four persons from the Second Ward were baptized in Miners ville last Saturday afternoon. Marjorie Robinson Sherwood was baptized and confirmed by Carl B. Banks. Darwin Cleonc : Rice, Frederick Adrian Steinfels and Robert Lynn Merryweather were baptized by Max WendeU Keetch. They were confirmed in Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. Babies blessed at the monthly Fast and Testimony meeting on Feb. 3 were Lorelie Elaine Dawson, daughter of William James and Lorelie Irene Stoddard Stod-dard Dawson; Rose Mary Solomon, Solo-mon, daughter of Donald Arthur and Varda Mae Banks Solomon; and WiUiam Charles Schow, son of Gerald and Nelouise Hughes Schow. Gayle Ann Larsen, daughter of Rolan R. and Lea Rae Bosch Larsen, was blessed in the First Ward by Bishop E. R. Jones. The following Primary workers work-ers attended Leadership meeting meet-ing in Beaver on Jan. 31: Merlin Me' ryweahter, Beth Edwards, Ruth Lish, Thelma Jones, Delia Paice, Cuma Goodwin, Ella Jean Parkinson and Mildred Wilcock. Eighteen Primary officers and teachers met at the home of President Ruth Lish last Mon day evening for a Primary Preparation meeting. This was an attendance of 100. After the teacher training lesson by Ella Jean Parkinson, the group began studying the book, "These Amazing Mormons," by Joseph H. Weston, a convert to the church. Business relative to beginning the annual birthday penny drive for the Children's Hospital was taken up and the districts assigned. When these ladies call at your homes they will appreciate it if you will j contribute to this worthy cause one penny (or more) for eacli year of your age. At the conclusion of the eve- ning Mildred Wilcock and Mrs. Lish served refreshments. The Primary children again . issue an invitation to all to at- ! tend the party and dance they : are giving next Monday after- . noon, Feb. 11, for the benefit of the children in the Primary Hospital. Hos-pital. The new hospital has now been completed and 's ready for occupancy. The chii dren themselves are giving the party and furnishing the items which will be sold in the booths and fish ponds. They will also bring their pennies to contrib- ute to the hospital one penny for each time they dance. |
