Recreation has been a prob- ' lem thruout the history of our country. There have been I many things to change the recreation rec-reation which our people have had. Having fun in the country differs from having fun in the city because the recreational facilities are very different. We pay for most of our fun. This kind of fun is a business with many people and it is called commercialized recreation. recrea-tion. Some kinds of commercialized commer-cialized recreation are movies, radio, reading, newspapers, and others. We in Milford get most of our recreation from commercialized recreation but we make the best of the recreational facilities facili-ties available to us. The recreation recrea-tion furnished in Milford is very good compared to other communities com-munities the same size. "Take Care of My Little Girl" is what Mr. and Mrs. Del Kesler are saying to a nice looking boy named Doug Bolton from Beaver. Beav-er. Doug has intentions of marrying mar-rying Ann, who was born and has spent her life in Milford. Doug gave Ann her ring January Jan-uary 25th. Ann and Doug are very much in love and make a very nice couple. They hope to get married mar-ried as soon as possible. CIVICS CLASS SPONSORS PRACTICAL PROJECTS Mr. Jesse Long, Social Science teacher at Milford High school, has directed his students in many practical projects so they may become well informed, useful use-ful citizens. Recently the Civics class has been working on a unit concerned with clean, wholesome whole-some recreation in communities. We are including in this issue some of the papers written by his students, on "Having Fun." HAVING FUN . By David Grififths I think hunting and fishing and camping are the most fun. I like to go hunting deer, pheasants pheas-ants or rabbits. Deer hunting is the most fun. It gives you a large charge to see a big buck coming up the draw in front of you. Rabbit hunting is not too much fun because they are so easy to shoot it is not fun to kill them. Pheasant hunting is quite a bit of fun. It is more fun to eat them than to kill them. I like to go camping and sleep on the ground at night. And climb the hills in the daytime day-time and go places that I have not been before. Fishing is a lot of fun, too, getting but .in the open and falling in the water. And wishing wish-ing the fish would bite at your hook; and I like to feel them fight when they get caught.' I like movies too, but so much most of the time I just go because be-cause there is not anything to do. My favorite movies arc crime, sports, combat pictures. I like these sports: basketball, basket-ball, football and baseball. HAVING FUN By Leland Beard j Having fun in my opinion is I enjoying myself thru recreation.
