' Mr. and Mrs. Cy Bradfield are guests of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Winn, who are vacationing thru California and Mexico. The Bradfields expect to be gone two weeks. Mr. and Mrs.. Frank Pryor spent the New Year week-end at Las Vegas visiting their son, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pryor. They also received holiday greetings from Harold and Gwen Pryor, who sent season's greetings to all their Minersville friends, and said they had snow in Port Townsend, Wash., the first substantial snow in many years. Mr. Wood entered service Dec. 22, 1947, and has traveled to many places since enlisting. In ' his possession are a number of i medals, including United Nations, Na-tions, Korean, U S Korean, Japanese Jap-anese Occupation and the Good Conduct. He participated in the evacuation of Hung Ham and in the invasion of Inchon. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. : Floyd Wood and is married to the former Ruth Green. j i Mr. and Mrs. Jay Browner ' and daughter Annette spent several sev-eral days during the holiday sea- j son at Minersville and at Beav- j er, visiting friends and relatives. Mac Armstrong reported to Camp Roberts on Jan. after spending a 30day furlough with his wife and family. Mrs. Edith Armstrong will join her husband hus-band after he has received a 1 permanent assignment. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Murdock visited Mac i nCedar City before he left for reassignment. Mr. and Mrs. Hayward Carter Car-ter and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Roberts and Carla spent the holiday season with their daughter daugh-ter and slsier and family, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Cusick of Los Angeles and Temple City, Cal. Also vacationing in the California Cali-fornia sunshine are Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Eyre and Mr. and Mrs. Garold Eyre, who are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gibson and j Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tanner. j Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Green of Las Vegas spent the New Year week-ned with Mrs. Fontella Dotson and family, Mrs. GreerT and Mrs. Dotson are sisters. The baby son of Mr. and Mrs. ' ; John Williams was blessed and christened with the name of John Melvin by his grandfath- 1 and Mrs. Thurman Eyre and Mr. t and Mrs. Heber Gillins spent ' the New Year with Mr. and Mrs. Early Hayward and family at Ruth, Nev. j John Corbridge is now mak-j mak-j ing his home at the Anderson Ranch Old Folks Home. His nephew, Lester Roberts, accompanied accom-panied him to his new residence during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Carter have the distinction of being parents of the last child born in Southern South-ern Utah in 1951. Their son, who has two brothers, was born Dec. 31. at i0:20 p. m. in the Iron County Hospital, weighing 8V2 lbs. This is the fourth grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Obra Myers, the 32nd grandchild grand-child for Mr. and Mrs. Hayward Carter on the paternal side, and the 71st great-grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Moroni Myers. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carter have the pleasure of announcing announc-ing the arrival of their 10th grandchild, a daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Verl Holdaway of Beaver, at the Iron County Hospital Hos-pital on Jan. 7th. The little Miss is the first baby for the Holdaways, the37th grandchild and 15th great-grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Cy Bradfield, and the 22nd great-grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. Hayward Carter. Mr. Albert Potter suffered a minor head injury while working work-ing at his job with the Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Smith of Provo spent the New Year week-end at the home of Helen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Marshall. Elder Frank Nowers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Nowers of Beaver and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Williams, greeted his many friends in Minersville during the holidays. Frank has just completed a two-year mission mis-sion for the L D S Church in Michigan. His parents traveled East to accompany their son home. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Marshall Mar-shall were hosts at a family dinner din-ner during the holidays. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Fay Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Truman, Mrs. Effie Marshall and Aldean, Ruth and Rachel; Mrs. Barbara Gressman, and their families. Belated expression of appreciation appre-ciation is for the effort on the part of the Minersville elementary element-ary school staff who presented a worthwhile program during the holidays. The parents appreciate ap-preciate the fact that the staff "maneuvered" costumes for the students, eliminating the expense ex-pense of making them, and concentrated con-centrated on producing fine singing entertainment by the students. The Town of Minersville Miners-ville enjoyed the evening's entertainment en-tertainment to the fullest. A "Thank You" to the Town Board and members of organizations organi-zations who assisted in decorating decorat-ing the town for the Yule season. sea-son. I Aside from vacancies in homes caused by boys in the service, and the caos in the world today, the residents of Minersville enjoyed a fine Christmas and have a great deal for which they are thankful.
