Show DRAFTEES MAY CHOOSE BRANCH OF SERVICE A Department of Defense policy pol-icy which allows many draft eligible men to enlist in the serv-! serv-! ice of their choice has been ex- tended until March 31, accord-, accord-, ing to word received this week 'by TSgt. Theodore J. .Lopez, station commander at the Cedar City Army and Air Force Re- cruiting Station. The policy, permitting the enlistment en-listment of men who are waiting wait-ing for their final induction notice, no-tice, has been extended several , times since its initiation last summer. Prior to the present extension, the policy remained in effect until midnight, New Year's Eve. "Many eligible men presently awaiting induction," Sgt. Lopez explained, "will want to enlist I in the Army or Air Force now I that the holiday season is over, and this new extension author-: author-: izes them to do so." A large number of men who have enlisted in the army recently re-cently are entering army aviation, avia-tion, according to the Cedar City recruiter. This includes the field of army airborne, light airplanes and helicopter transports, trans-ports, all of which are expanding. expand-ing. . Sgt. Lopez invites all persons interested in the Army or Air Force to visit him at Cedar City I recruiting station. |
