Show U. P. FILM ON CATTLE TO BE SHOWN THURSDAY "Cattle Country," Union Pacific Pa-cific Railroad's fifth agricultural agricultur-al film, will be shown in Mil-ford Mil-ford next Thursday, Nov. 8th. The film will be presented at a ' Lions Club meeting, to which members of the Minersville and Beaver Lions Clubs and cattlemen cattle-men of the area and Garrison and Baker have been invited. "The 25-minute, 16-millimeter sound and color film is designed de-signed to furnish members of the cattle industry an up-to-date I I 1:; ;t v-v ti I ! J I If I "Wes" Sou'ier summary of the latest steps in their field and to provide the layman with an interesting introduction in-troduction to the science of beef production," declared Wesley Wes-ley D. Soulier, Union Pacific agricultural agent, who will show the film in. Milford. During Dur-ing the fall-and winter, the picture pic-ture will also be shown at meetings meet-ings of producers conducted by the railroad's a g r i c u 1 tural agents aboard the U P agricultural agricul-tural improvement car. Two years in production, the film was made by the railroad with the cooperation of cattlemen cattle-men and handlers of livestock, state agricultural colleges, extension ex-tension specialists and the U S Foiest Service. Featured by animated drawing- and simple diagrams and charts, "Cattle Country" covers grazing land care, diet requirement.; require-ment.; of cattle, water supply branding and inoculation of catt'e at round-up time, parasites para-sites and their control, ranch planning and rail slock car loading. A feature of the picture is the ingenious fashioning of a watering water-ing trough from a large log by burning out the hard core thru drilled holes, followed by the piying off of the top half. The picture was made undet the technical direction of Union Pacific's agricultural development develop-ment department. The Lio"s Club meeting at which the film will be presented will be held at the usual time 7:30 p. m., in St. Bridget's Recreation Rec-reation Hall, with Father Valine and the Catholic Ladies featuring featur-ing beef on the dinner menu. |
