Goodwin, Duard Evans and Far-rell Far-rell Lish. Aaronic Priesthood conventions are new in the Church and this is the first one ever to be held in the Beaver Stake. There were two v siting sit-ing brethren from Salt Lake in attendance, to give instructions and speak about Aavonic Priest- ' hood to those present. I Plans for nn outing' at Pcn-derosa Pcn-derosa Park next Friday evening! eve-ning! were discussed by the Fireside group at their regular meeting at the home of Ray and Slvilene Barnes last Sunday evening. Those present were May Carter, Frank and Barbara Jones, Loraine and Nona Gil-lins, Gil-lins, Tony and Bonnie Williams, Mary Albrecht, Dick and La-Priel La-Priel Banks, Jeanette Stoker and Shirlene Barnes. The group also discussed plans for a temple excursion, but no definite def-inite date was set for one. After Aft-er the discussion Mrs. Barnes served cookies, ice cream and punch. I It has been announced that i there will be a genealogical con- vention in Beaver next Sunday, June 17. A general session at 2 p. m. will be held in the First-Third First-Third Ward chapel. Everyone who is interested in genealogy woik is invited to this meeting. At 10 a. m. in the seminary building there will be a meeting for all stake and ward leaders who have anything to do with genealogy. Visitors from Salt Lake City are expected to be in attendance at both meetings and many problems concerning genealogy work will be taken up. "Prayer Perfect," was the title of the vocal solo which Miss Bonnie Munk rendered in Sacrament meeting in the Second Sec-ond Ward on June 10. She was accompanied by Gertrude Fisher Fish-er at the piano. In the absence of Bishop Gronning, who is on vacation, Counselor Gael W. Elmer has been in charge of the past week's meetings. J. C. Smith, the other counselor in the bishopric, bish-opric, has also been out of town for several days. He has been attending a State Bankers' Convention in Salt Lake City. In commemoration of the restoration res-toration of the Melchizedek Priesthood a special talk on Priesthood was given by Jack B. Goodwin in Sacrament meeting meet-ing last Sunday evening. i When the Bishopric asked j Brother and Sister Dick Jones some time ago to speak in the Second Ward Sacrament meeting, meet-ing, little did they know that Brother Jones would speak as I the new bishop of the First 1 Ward. He was installed by the Stake Presidency in the First 1 Ward meeting earlier in the evening. Both Brother and Sister Sis-ter Jones spoke in the Second Ward meeting, bearing their testimonies and reporting on their missionary experiences of the past six months in the California Cali-fornia Mission. Girls of the Guardian (Beehive) (Bee-hive) Class and their teacher, Irene Stewart went on a "hobo" hike last Tuesday evening. They finally arrived at the park, where they ate lunch and, then played some games.
