Nielsen en tor-tain- ed at her home in Sandy for members of her evening dinner i club iast week. A lovely seven i o'clock dinner- was served after; which bridge was played. Mrs. A. D. Christensen and Mrs. Helen SuUcnger played high and Mrs. ;L. W. Nielsen received the bingo prize. Others present were Mrs. Eugene Morris. Miss Laura Mar--' ; shall. Miss Mabel Neprud, Mrs. Robert Bailey and Mrs. Odell Peterson. Norfolk. Va. (FHTNC) Marine SrX. Grant 13. Isherwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hurst of West Jordan, formerly of Bing-hn- m Canyon, and husband of Mrs. Lorraine II. Isherwood of Norfolk, Va., was scheduled to arrive here April 15 aboard the battleship USS Iowa after a three month cruise in the Mediterran-ean. During the cruise the Iowa and other units of the U. S. Cth Fleet participated in several NA-- i TO exercises With ships of the Greek, Turkish and British na-vies. She stopped at Gibraltar; Oran, Algeria ; Athens, Greece; Naples and Genoa, Italy; Istan-bul, Turkey and Cannes, France. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Carter re-ceived word that their son. Cor-poral Richard J. Carter landed in Tacoma, Wash., last Friday and is expected to arrive home the end of this week. Dick h&a been stationed in Korea the p3 18 months with the ordinance, section. vale, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. John-son, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Hurley and Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Contratto of Murray who acted as host and hostess for the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ball, and children, Ronda and Randy of Midvale visited with Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson and dau-ghter JoAnn Tuesday. A group of girls enjoyed horse-back riding and swimming Sun-day afternoon. Attending were Ren.a Joy Coleman, Doris Ab- - Elanalp, Beverly Ray and Colleen The regional meet for the Gun Club sponsored by the Methodist church will be held at South high school in Salt Lake City Saturday, April 23. There will be ten boys attending from the Cop-perto- n Gun club. Mr. and Mrs. William Ablett and Mr. and Mrs. Miles Gayth-wait- e are attending a convention in Reno, Nev. Mrs. George Dahlstrom was hostess to the pinochle club at her home Monday evening. Priz-es at cards went to Mrs. John Adamek, first; Mrs. J. W. John-son, second, Mrs. Frank Zaccaria, consolation and Mrs. R.G. Steele, draw. Delicious late refreshments were served to nine. A surprise party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Man-uel Susaeta honoring Buck Ley- - ba. Others in attendance were Harold Susaeta, Johnny Johnson, Kent Simkins, Paul McMullin, Michael Swain, Jimmy Lovat and Reeves Dahlstrom. The boys pre-sented Buck with a lovely gift. It was their way of thanking him for being their coach this last year at the Civic Center. 'The boys took first place in the Pea Wee league and also received the good sportsmanship award. Bridge club was held at the home of Mrs. Carrie Doyle with Mrs. Pat Peterson acting as hos-tess. Those attending were Mrs. Maxine Carter, Mrs. Clara Sy- - browsky, . Mrs. Olivo Prlgmore, Mrs. Irene Anderson, Mrs. Flor- - jence Dowd and Miss Kay Braun of Midvale. Prizes were won by Mrs. Sybrowsky, first, Mrs. Prig-mor- e, second, and Mrs. Doyle, house. Mr. and Mrs. George Anderson visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ron-ald Ball and children of Midvale Wednesday evening. The annual Stake Genealogy convention was held Sunday, April 17th at South Jordan ward. Mr. and Mrs. Louis DcCol left Wednesday morning for Califor-nia where they will spend a few days visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Mont DeCol at Oceanside. They also plan to spend two days in Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. William Wiseman and Mrs. Gertrude Doidge of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Clinton Poul-so- n spent Wednesday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. George Knud-sen. The occasion celebrated Mr. Knudsen's birthday. , Mr. and Mrs. David 0. Copperton Ward Relief Society will hold its social science meet-ing next Tuesday, April 26 at 10 a.m. Lesson will be given by Mrs. L. E. Snow. All ladies of the ward are invited. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Shirts and daughter, who recently moved from California to Murray, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Poulson Monday. Their daughter stayed to visit at the Poulson home for a few days. STUDY GUILD Copperton Study Guild will meet Monday evening, April 25 at 8:00 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Lucille Brisk with Mrs. Norma Nichols as cohostess. A program on interior decorating will be given. All members are invited. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Grant entertained Sunday at a family dinner honoring Mrs. Grant's mother, Mrs. Hannah Terry of Draper on her birthday annivers-ary.
