Show Hbout ' Politics John O. Christiansen, this year's candidate for County Attorney At-torney on the Democratic ticket, was born in Beaver in 1924, the fifth child of Hans A. and Maud E. Christiansen. He received his high school education at Beaver, graduating from Beaver Beav-er High in 1943. He attended B Y U for two years and the U of U for four years. He graduated from the University of Utah Law School with an LLB degree in 1949. After being admitted to the Utah State Bar in 1950, he has practiced law in Beaver since July 1, 1950. While attending school he was president of the Sophomore class at B Y U and served for a year and a half on the original student campus traffic court at the U of U, the last six months of which he was chief justice of the court. He is presently serving as a counselor in the Beaver Stake Y M M I A. John P. Barton, candidate for re-election to the Utah State Legislature, was born and reared in Beaver County 'and has spent his adult life in Beaver Beav-er City. Barion the Beaver Branch of the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young Academy and the L D S Business College in Salt Lake. At the age of 17 he entered the employ of the J. F. Tolton Mercantile Co.t and after spending spend-ing five years with that firm engaged in business for himself, organizing the. Barton Brothers Mercantile Co. He managed that firm for 12 years. In 1917 he sold the store and was employed em-ployed as assistant cashier of the First National Bank of Beaver, later as cashier, and held that position until 1927, when he resigned to devote full time to his farms and the cattle and sheep business. From 1934 to 1940 he was employed em-ployed by the Regional Agricultural Agricul-tural Credit Corp. of Salt Lake, a livestock financing agency of the government. Mr. Barton was elected to the Beaver County Board of Education Edu-cation in 1916, serving three successive terms. He was president presi-dent of the board for six yearj. He was president of the Beaver Beav-er City Chamber of Commerce two terms, and the Beaver Boosters Club two terms. He wa ssecreteary to U S Senator Abe Murdock from 1942 to 1947 and was stationed in Washington, Washing-ton, D. C. In 1948 he was elected State Representative from Beaver County, and is now the Democratic Demo-cratic candidate for re-election to that office. Wendell D. Ross, Democratic candidate for Beaver County Treasurer, was born in 1921. After graduating from high school he attended Coyne Electrical Elec-trical School in Chicago, and ''-.
