Following Sacrament meeting meet-ing on Sunday, Oct. 15, several persons were set apart to work in the M I A and Primary. They were as follows: Frank Jones, Y M M I A president; Lorraine Gillins, second counselor; La-Reta La-Reta Worthen, organist and second sec-ond counselor in the Y W M I A; Mildred Wilcock, MIA Maids teacher; Esther Rollins, MIA dance director and Primary Pri-mary chorister; Berniece Smith, activity director in the Primary; and Zelda Merryweather, second sec-ond group Primary teacher. All three girls took part on the program. Barbara Stoker Jones, having filled the necessary requirements, require-ments, became a Golden Gleaner. Glean-er. This is the highest achievement achieve-ment a Gleaner Girl can earn. Up until now only one Milford girl had attained this honor. The first Milford Golden Gleaner Glean-er was Ella Jean Parkinson, a teacher " at the Elementary school. Bishop Gronning read a special letter from the General Gen-eral Board in Salt Lake City and then presented Mrs. Jones with her award, after which she gave a short talk about Gleaner work. Others who took part in Sacrament Sac-rament meeting were Faye Berger, Phyllis Whittaker, Irene Stewart, Florence Evans, La-Reta La-Reta Worthen, Doris Elmer, Gael Elmer, and Dorothy Tut-tle. Tut-tle. Frank Jones, Y M M I A president, took charge. There were 98 persons present. Bishop Gronning has received word that the Stake officers will be in Milford in full force next Sunday all day to hold the annual Ward Conference. Sunday Sun-day School will be held as usual and the conference meeting meet-ing in the evening. This will be the first such Ward Conference Confer-ence for the Milford Second Ward and everyone is urged to come out and help make it a big and outstanding one. Bishop Gronning has asked especially that the officers of each organization organi-zation be responsible for getting get-ting their complete groups to attend at-tend both Sunday School and Sacrament meeting. Fireside on Oct. 15 was held at the home of Melpha Lyman. Among those present were two guests. They were Arthur Johnson, son of Matilda Johnson, John-son, and a friend of ..his from Pennsylvania. Both young men are members of the U S Air Force and are stationed at Melbourne, Mel-bourne, Fla. They were formerly for-merly stationed in the Panama Canal Zone and were able to add much interest to the regular Book of Mormon lesson and discussion, dis-cussion, inasmuch as many Book of Mormon incidents took place in that part of the country. coun-try. Fireside will be held next Sunday at the home of Shirleen Barnes. On Oct. 4th girls of the M I A Maids and Guardians (Beehive) classes, together with their teachers Mildred Wilcock and Irene Stewart went to Miners-ville Miners-ville for an evening' of roller skating. The girls who participated partic-ipated were Deon Lofthouse, Alice Williams, Zelda Merryweather, Merry-weather, Bonnie Lund, Patricia Patri-cia Wilcock and Donna Apple-gate. Apple-gate.
