Show FULL SLATE OF TEACHERS NAMED FOR BEAVER COUNTY SCHOOLS All schools in the Beaver County School District are "fully staffed" for the 1949-50 school year.it was announced today from the office of Supt. David Pearce. Four new instructors in-structors will begin their first year of duty at Milford Elementary Ele-mentary school, three new teachers have been engaged for Milford High, two at Belknap, Belk-nap, and one at Beaver High. Repair and remodeling at the i Milford high and elementary buildings will have been completed com-pleted by the time school opens, j Tuesday, Sept. 6, "Mr. Pearce said, and it is expected that the remodeling will -rove beneficial in making for better and more convenient facilities. All teachers for the Milford schools will meet in the workshop work-shop at Milford High on Tuesday, Tues-day, August 30th. Dr. Murphy, associate professor of education at the University of Utah, will lead discussion of problems on audial visual aid. The public is invited to attend this session and acquaint themselves with trends in this particular field of education. The meeting will be divided into two sessions, from 10 to 12 a. m. and from 1:30 to 3:30 p. m. On August 31st, the time will be devoted to study of problems as they affect us here in this county, with Mrs. Jennie Campbell, Camp-bell, state supervisor of elementary element-ary education, and Miss Starr, county elementary supervisor, answering questions and leading the discussion. Mrs. Campbell will approach local problems from a social study angle, and plans will be laid for special study groups, under her supervision. supervi-sion. Kindergarten registration will be Friday, Sept. 2, at 10 a. m. for Milford students. Miners-ville Miners-ville students will register at 1 p. m. Sept. 6th. Parents or guardians are requested to accompany ac-company children, and bring birh certificates or other proof of age. Children turning 5 on or before Oct. 31 are eligible for enrollment in the kindergarten, kinder-garten, which will continue for the full school year. Principal of Milford High for the coming year will be I Mr. Leland Rex, a graduate of U S A C who has had teaching experience in Junior High and High Schools, and who comes to Milford from Evanston, Wyo., where he was principal last year. Other new Milford High instructors in-structors are Edna W. Smith and William Glenn Bushnell. Back at their old positions will be Perry Lee Neal, Arthur T. Hansen, Han-sen, Jean C. Hansen, J. M. Hughes, Jesse Long, LaVeta Holm, Karl Stott and David C. Watkins. Ira "Mitch" Fisher returns to the Elementary school as principal, prin-cipal, with returning staff members mem-bers including Vera Bond, Cler-ynth Cler-ynth J. Larsen, Ella Jean Parkinson, Park-inson, Nelda P. Memmott, Grace Geist and Harriet S. Hutchings. Newcomers to the Elementary staff are Mima Jean Bellison, Frank G. King, John M. Christiansen Chris-tiansen and Elizabeth -Peterson. At Minersville, no changes in teachers have been made. The instructors will be Sherman Carter, Car-ter, principal; Frank Farns-worth, Farns-worth, Lillian McKnight, Ber-nice Ber-nice Gillins and Thora Beeson. |
