Show ST. BRIDGET'S ROSARIANS met Monday, March 7th, at the Rectory in the rear of the I church. It was the first meet-1 ing since the reorganization of the society, and was conducted by Mrs. Owen R. Smith, president. presi-dent. Prayer opened and closed the meeting. Mrs. S. E. Pitchforth gave a detailed report of her work as general chairman of the Youth Movement, working under un-der Father Valine. Mrs. Rhodes also gave a report as chairman of the dinner committee. Plans were completed for the public card party to be given on St. Patrick's Day. Mrs. Cecil Edwards was appointed chairman. chair-man. Father Valine gave an interesting inter-esting lesson on baptism. The next meeting will be a social meeting, held at the home of Mrs. Smith. Light refreshments were served by the president. AN ENJOYABLE time was had at the regular monthly social so-cial of the Lady Firemen, Friday Fri-day evening. Delicious cherry pie a la mode was served by the committee, Afton Nielson, Maud Mills, Christie Lyman, Lillian Fotheringham and Merlin Mer-ryweather. Mer-ryweather. Bridge and pinochle were played with Lorelei Dawson winning high, Noma Bradshaw, second high, and Jcannette Hickman, Hick-man, low, for pinochle. At bridge, Mildred' Coon won high points, Roma Carlton, honors, and Lucille Raines, low. Lovely pieces of crocheting were given as prizes. je AT FIVE HUNDRED last Tuesday evening, at the home of Arleene Voorhees, Audrey Skil-licorn Skil-licorn won high prize, Bertha Schaidt, second high, and Margaret Mar-garet Arnold, cut prize. Other guests were Jean Hickman, Hick-man, Luella Fisher, Evelyn Brannon, Alice Muir, Donna Wadsworth, Dee Ferguson, Hilda Shields and Helen Hickman. After cards, a well planned and tasty dinner' was served by Mrs. Voorhees. AUDREY SKILLICORN had as her guests last Monday evening, eve-ning, Ruth Lish, Almeda Hol-brook, Hol-brook, Faye Thompson, Faye Berger, Lorelie Dawson, Jean Butler, Nona Perkins and Donna Christensen. Pinochle was played, with Mrs. Lish and Mrs. Butler receiving re-ceiving prizes. Mrs. Skillicorn served a salad course after cards. . MRS. GARNETTA HOLLIS ; IS BAND MOTHERS LEADER Mrs. Garnetta Hollis was elected to the office of Band Mothers president at a meeting held in the High School auditorium audi-torium Monday evening. Mrs. Lillian Anderson, who had pre- I viously been named to the chair, resigned because of previous commitments. Other officers are Florence Beard, first vice-president; Ver-ha Ver-ha Tomsik, second vice-president, and Ella Crum, secretary-treasurer. secretary-treasurer. The problem of uniforms for the band members was placed before the group. They agreed on red satin blouses and white pants. The mothers will make the blouses. : Committees were appointed to contact all the mothers. Parents j of the band members expressed a keen desire to have the local musicians enter the competition I at Fillmore in April. |
