Show THE CATHOLIC LADIES met at the Catholic church rectory Wednesday, February 16th. Mrs. ( Bethany Edwards, president, was "v- in charge of the meeting. It was reported that it would be necessary to change the name of the organization if the ladies were to be recognized as an affiliated af-filiated society. For more than 30 years the group has been known as the Catholic Ladies of Milford, but in the future their group will be titled Saint Brid-get's Brid-get's Rosarans. Father Valine gave a short talk on the importance import-ance of thP organization. At election of officers the following fol-lowing were named to serve for the coming year: Mrs. Owen R. Smith, president; Mrs. Cecil Ed wards, secretary; Mrs. Don Wis-ner, Wis-ner, treasurer. Mrs. S. E. Pitch-forth, Pitch-forth, retiring treasurer, had very capably held this office since 1937. ' Mrs. O. R. Smith, new president, first held this of-j of-j fice more than 25 years ago, in the early days of the organiza- r" -- - tion. Mrs. Pitchforth and Mrs. G. E. McGinn were appointed by the new president to work with Father Valine in the youth center. cen-ter. Mrs. Leona Rhoades was appointed chairman of the dinners din-ners to be held at the church. Application for the new charter char-ter will be made by Father Valine. Val-ine. Plans for the coming year's I activities were discussed over I coffee and spudnuts, served by I Father Valine. |
