Show 0 Interest to Women i LAST THURSDAY the following follow-ing ladies were entertained at the home of Mrs. Richard Banks: Mrs. Lucile Belliston, Mrs. Jesse Williams, Mrs. Irene Carter, Mrs. Renee Carter, Mrs. Mildred Wilcox, Mrs. Virginia Gillins, Mrs. Leila Martin and Mrs. Maurine Miller. A lovely luncheon, following the valentine motif, was served by the hostess. The evening was spent chatting and sewing, i A VERY DELICIOUS birth- day dinner was served in honor of Mrs. Lucile Roberts, February 16th, at her home. Those present pres-ent were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Myers and children, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Frazer, Mrs. Lane Frazer and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Roberts and family. The honored guest received many lovely gifts. THE PAST PRESIDENTS of Milford Valley G. I. A. No. 21 met at the home of Mrs. Gar-netta Gar-netta Hollis, February 10th. A very delicious hot luncheon was served by Mrs. Hollis. The members then pleasantly surprised her with lovely birthday birth-day gifts and cards. The meeting meet-ing was then opened for the first time since the parlor was instituted insti-tuted by President Wanda Holm. A very interesting meeting was held, with the ritualistic work explained and practiced. Mrs. Flora Cuddy drew the raffle, which was furnished by the hostess. The March meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Mag-dalena Mag-dalena White. Other members present were Mrs. Ethel Killam. Mrs. Florence Barnes, Mrs. Kath-eryn Kath-eryn Shingleton, Mrs. Jessie Farmer, Mrs. Marvel Connell and Mrs. Ethel Smith. LAST WEDNESDAY a gala event was enjoyed by Mrs. Vance Fisher, Mrs. Raymond Magill, Mrs. K. B. Coon, Mrs. A. L. McDonald, Mrs. Harold Cline, Mrs. Vic Carlson and Mrs. Hazel Hillman, at the ' lovely home of Mrs. Lloyd Kohler. Bridge was played, prizes being be-ing won by Mrs. Kohler, Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Magill. A hot chili dinner was served after cards. 1 THE LADIES of the G I A met at the home of Mrs. Spencer . Whittakes Wednesday afternoon to plan a party for Mr. Jimmy . Curry, who is retiring after 45 years of railroad service. MR. . AND MRS. Robert Franklin Robinson of Sumter. South Carolina, announce the marriage of their daughter, Eleanor Wallace, to to Mr. Neil Alden Rhodes, on Saturday, January Jan-uary 29th. Neil, a former Milford High School student, is serving with the Army Air Forces in South Carolina. MRS. HAZEL HILLMAN entertained en-tertained for the AT&T gang Saturday night. Chili was served at midnight to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Haynie, Mr. and Mrs. Don Theron, Mr. and Mrs. Thorel Loveland and Mr. and Mrs. Arley Gustavson. ' VALENTINE PARTIES were in vogue last week. A very outstanding out-standing event was that of Mrs. Jackie Williams when she entertained enter-tained last Monday evening at her home. Guests were Mae Carter, Afton Nelson, Virginia Grimes, Jean Patterson, Naomi Baker, Virginia Young and Janet Walker. A very lovely luncheon was served at 10:30. MR. AND MRS. James Holm were hosts at a dinner party at their home Sunday, Feb. 13th, in honor of Mr. Jimmy Curry, who will celebrate his 70th birth anniversary February 17th. The red carnations and lighted red candles were used as centerpieces center-pieces on the lovely table. After dinner Po-Keno was enjoyed, en-joyed, with Mrs. Colburn winning win-ning high for the ladies . and Mrs. Farmer the low score. Mr. Curry and Mr. Farmer were the gentlemen winners. Guests enjoying en-joying the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Farmer, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Colburn, Mr. and Mrs. Owen R. Smith and Mr. Jimmy Curry. MRS. MAGDALENA WHITE was hostess last Wednesday evening, eve-ning, at a dinner honoring the Past Presidents of the American Legion Auxiliary. The guests were seated at small tables appropriately ap-propriately decorated for the occasion oc-casion and a hot dinner was served to the following ladies: Mrs. Ethel Nielsen, Mrs. Letha Smyth, Mrs. Metta Weston, Mrs. Erma Cline, Mrs. Ethel Smith, Mrs. Dora Smithson, Mrs. Nina Bingham Mrs. Naomi Hughes. Bridge was played, and prizes were won by Mrs. Weston, points; Mrs. Hughes, honors, and Mrs. Cline, consolation. MR. AND MRS. Sam Cline were hosts to the Misses Marline Mills, Connie Johnson, Roberta Nielson, Sharon Robinson, Jo-Ann Jo-Ann Nielson, Gardner and Black, who were in town for the basketball basket-ball game with Delta, Wednesday Wednes-day evening. MRS. C. R. GRIMSHAW entertained en-tertained at Bingo Thursday afternoon, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Fernley of Caliente. Ice cream, cake, and punch were served to Mr. and Mrs 8 Dave Erickson, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Mills and Mrs. Steve Williams J and the honored guests. MR. AND MRS. S. A. Williams entertained in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Ray H. Mills of Lynndyl, after the basketball game Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Those who enjoyed en-joyed the evening were Mr. and Mrs. Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cline, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cline, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Grim-shaw. Grim-shaw. MONDAY NIGHT Mrs. Lora Bradfield entertained her bridge club, with Mrs. Eva Banks winning win-ning points prize, Mrs. Belle Palmer, honors, and Mrs. Louise Delgardo the consolation. Other members of the club present were Ann Lee, Garnet Garfield, , Wanda Holm, Ruby James and Mrs. Lela Rowley. |
