Show L00K1NG ' BACKWARD TEN YEARS AGO At a meeting Wednesday evening eve-ning of the Milford unit of the United Prosperity Plan, the following fol-lowing were elected as eleven of the twelve members composing the local board of governors'. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Fothering-ham, Fothering-ham, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Lyman, Ly-man, Mr. and Mrs. Horace M. Corbridge, Dan James, Dor. Workman, W. E. Dryden, Lester Williams and T. J. Williams. Miss Louise Wilson, cashier-secretary cashier-secretary of the local unit, automatically auto-matically becomes the twelfth member of the board, and the group organized with Mrs. Foth-eringham Foth-eringham as chairman. Mrs. Gladys Green, state director of public relations, was present for the meeting and addressed the gathering. She reiterated the promise of Isom Lamb, former resident of Parowan, now head of the national organization, to visit the club in the near future., He was scheduled for a meeting in Milford some three weeks ago but his schedule was disrupted by storms at that time and he was unable to come. Mrs. J. E. Yither of Salt Lake, a former resident of Milford, visited vis-ited here the first of this week. Mrs. J. R. Murdock Jr., and son Joey, left Sunday for San Fracisco, where they will visit with Mrs. Murdock's daughters. Betty and Dorothy. Recent births at the Milford hospital include a baby girl, July 3, to Mrs. Dan Stewart of Pioche, Nev., and a baby boy, July 7, to Mrs. Harry Thompson of Minersville. Dr. W. Fred Cottrell. professor of political science at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, with his wife and kiddies, are visiting for a few days with Dr. Cottrell's mother, Mrs. W. F. Cottrell Sr., and other relatives and friends. They are on their way homeward home-ward from the coast, where they have been visiting Mrs. Cottrell's relatives. A canyon party was given by the Stitchletic Club Saturday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. James Patterson. The party motored to Griffiths' Spring where they put over one of those real weiner bakes, had watermelon water-melon to wash down the weiners and used the remainder of the evening for general gossip. Those in the party were Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Hickman, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Hearn, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tribole, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Atkin, Mr. and Mrs. Eb Tanner Mrs. Karl Levi, Mrs. Vern Patterson, Pat-terson, David Tanner and Mr. and Mrs. James Patterson. |
