Show FOUR-H CLUBS PREPARE FOR OUTING AT KENT'S LAKE Eating, sleeping, singing, shellcraft and fun will be featured feat-ured at the 4-H Club camp at Kent's Lake July 14, 15, and 16, it was announced today by Miss Betty Jeanne Stone. Home Demonstration Agent, who is in charge of the annual Beaver County youth camp. Mrs. Lois Smith, Extension Clothing Specialist from Utah State Agricultural College, will assist Miss Stone and the new Agricultural Agent, Grant Esp-lin. Esp-lin. Plans are going ahead for all activities, Miss Stone said, and the committees promise a good time for all who attend. "We hope you have arranged for your transportation, food and bedding, and plan to arrive at noon on Monday," she said. A cordial invitation also was extended to parents and townspeople towns-people to attend the camp activities. activ-ities. The evening programs will begin at 7:30. Suggested recipes for campers: Basic Pancake Recipe (Serves 8) 3 cups flour 1 teaspoon salt lVz tblspns baking powder 1 or 2 eggs 2 cups milk 2 tblspns melted fat Grease for frying Mix dry ingredients, add eggs slightly beaten, then milk gradually, grad-ually, last of all melted fat. Batter Bat-ter should just pour from spoon. Have pan hot, and well greased. Pour spoonful on pan cook until bubbles appear on top, then turn. The smaller the cake, the easier for beginners to cook. Try flipping, using individual indi-vidual pans. When using batter for a large group, give each camper a paper cup of batter. Variation: Add 2 cups blueberries, blueber-ries, or cooked rice, or 2 teaspoons tea-spoons cinnamon and 2 tablespoons table-spoons sugar. Pioneer Drumsticks (On-a-stick Serves 8) 2 lbs. chopped beef 1 cup cornflakes crumbled fine 2 eggs (optionel) Salt, pepper, onion, salt 16 rolls or slices of bread 8 green sticks about the size of a thumb, peel thick end three inches. Mix beef, seasoning, eggs and cornflakes together thoroughly. Make 16 portions . Wrap a portion around end of a stick, squeezing place evenly. Make it long and thin, not a ball. Be sure there are no air spaces in it. (Watch out for big pieces of cornflakes). Cook slowly over coals, turn ing frequently so all sides arc evenly cooked. Twist slightly to take off stick. Serve in roll Some prefer to roll the mat in crumbled cornflakes after plac ing it on the stick, to make a crust. Try it both ways. Variations: Use peanut butter instead of chocolate -"Robinson Crusoes." Use slices of apples instead of crackers "apple some-mores." Use chocolate covered crack ers and no chocolate bars.
