Show AIRWAYS STATION MOVES TO AIRPORT IN TWO WEEKS During the week of July 21-26. 21-26. the Milford Airway Communications Com-munications Station and weather reporting service will be moved from the present location west of Milford, to the new office build' ing at the Milford Airport, it was announced this week by Maurice I. Walters, in charge of the Milford station. "Among many of our fellow towns people the impression seems to be prevalent that the old building and station are to be abandoned," Mr. Walter said. "This, however, is far from being be-ing the case. High-power radio transmitting equipment with associated as-sociated antenna array will remain re-main in operation at the old location. The building and all associated equipment remain the property of the federal government." govern-ment." The new Communications Station Sta-tion at the airport will continue to operate the transmiters in the old building by means of remote control equipment and in addition addi-tion will contain new very high frequency radio transmitters and receiving equipment, as well as remote control for the new. very high frequency radio range that is located three miles south of Milford. The U. S. Weather Bureau is: expected to furnish a staff of personnel for the new Weather Bureau Office, which is to be associated as-sociated with the Communications Communica-tions Station in the near future, but as yet there is no information informa-tion available as to just when or how many of their personnel will be located in Milford. The new location of the Communications Com-munications Station will provide greatly increased convenience to the flying public by reason of making up to the minute flight planning service available at the airport, as well as being in a position to furnish current airport air-port filed information to aircraft landing or taking off. |
