Show liTAIfS FLYING FARMERS GREETED AT MILFORD AIRPORT SATURDAY Alter two announced trips - Tilford were called off, the Flying Farmers finally "make the grade" last Saturday and 1 ew into riiltord, setting their 30 ships down at the airport at 5:20 p. m. for a 30-minute lunch stop. A tasty snack was served the group by the Lion Club and the Chambar of Com- , merce. I About 300 local citizens turned out to greet the Farmers and inspect in-spect the variety of planes owned by this nationally-famous group. Amon" the official welcoming party were Mayor Carlyle Gron- ning, Airport Manager Ben Hill-l Hill-l man. Lion President O. W. Evans I and Chamber of Commerce President Pres-ident Vance Fisher. Mr.'W. H. Fuhriman, president of the visiting club, set up his ; portable public address system and acted as master of ceremonies, cere-monies, introducing Dr. F. S. Harris, president of the A. C, and other members of the party. A short but interesting talk was given by Dr. Harris, relating some of the experiences of the group during their barnstorming tour. Two ladies, Mrs. W. H. Fuhriman Fuhri-man and Mrs. Jack Pierce, accompanied ac-companied the aviators. |
