Show j 1 Jessie Alleman Whitney Jessie Whitney, educator, dies; services today Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Sec-cnd-Eighth Ward for Jessie Alleman Whitney, 75, who died April 7, 1969 of causes incident to ?ge at a Provo rest home. Bishop Marshall Fox of the Seccnd Ward will officiate. Friends may call at the Wheeler Mortuary this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Ever-green Cemetery. She was born March 22, 1894 in Springville, the daughter of Daniel Joseph and Amanda Elizabeth Starr Alleman. She married Lewis J. Whitney, De- , cember 23, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Whit- ney died in 1.954. . Active in the church, she i served a mission to the Eastern Stpt.es from 1923 to 1925. She was president of the YWMIA, taught in the Sunday School, worked in the Primary, both in the ward and also the stake. t She attended the University of Utah and the Brigham . Ycjng University, where she "received her degree to teach. She taught school in all of the , elementary schools in Springville Spring-ville and Mapleton and served as principal of the Washington School prioi to its being razed. She also worked as a visiting tether for Nebo School District Dis-trict both in Springville and Mapleton. Survivors include two sons, one step-son and one stepdaughter; step-daughter; William A. Whitney, Ogden; Joseph L. Whitney, Springville; Lewis Earl Whitney Whit-ney and Mrs. LeJeune Griffith of Sunnyvale, California; seven sev-en grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Guy (Lela) Thomas, Salt Lake Citv.
