Show $3revitiei . . . Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Miller just returned from a three week's visiting and sightseeing vacation in California. They were the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Blanchard at Long Beach, and their children. They were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Cowley and family at San Marino. Mrs. Cowley is the former Nancy Miller. They visited vis-ited a grandson, David, son of Mr .and Mrs. Lynn Labrum (Miriam Long) serving on an LDS mission. They also visited daughters and families, Irene Redford in Bakersfield and Norma Williams in Manteca. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Hill accompanied ac-companied them as far as Ontario On-tario where they visited with a son, Fred. They saw Old Placer Mine near Manteca with miles of rock fences built by slave Chinese laborers. Sp.-4 Larry Weight is spending spend-ing this week home on a short visit from the Fitzsimons General Gen-eral Hospital in Denver where he has been confined for the past 13 months from wounds received in Vietnam. He will undergo further surgery upon returning to the hospital next week. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Weight. Mrs. Earl Condie had as a guest this past week Mrs. Jerry Jer-ry Mikkelsen from Louisville, Kentucky, who was here to attend at-tend Primary conference. Also visiting here from Riverside, California was the Lee Condie family. A get together party was enjoyed at Kelly's Grove Friday afternoon where a hamburger cookout was held. The 1969 slogan of the American Amer-ican Cancer Society is: Help yourself with a checkup and others with a check. Thirty years ago one-in-five was saved from cancer. Now it's one-in-three.
