Show New April survey HUoistwe content well above average Moisture content on snow courses for Utah County is still well above the 1953-1967 1953-1967 averages for the first of April, according to the Soil Conservation Service. Sncw courses at lower elevations ele-vations appear to be well above average, ranging from 228 percent at Clear Creek Ridge No. 1 to 282 percent at South Fork Ranger Sta tion in American Fork Canyon. Can-yon. At higher elevations recordings re-cordings range from 154 percent cf average at Pay-son Pay-son Ranger Station to 195 percent at Timpanogos Divide. Di-vide. The average increase in water content over the March 1 survey was 1.12 inches in-ches for twelve courses measured mea-sured in the county. The lar gest increase came at higher high-er elevations, with Clear Creek Ridge receiving 3.85 inches and Timpanogos Divide Di-vide receiving 2.50 inches of moisture. The lower elevations eleva-tions were much lower, ranging ran-ging from two-tenths of an inch increase at Packard Canyon to minus seven-tenths seven-tenths decrease in water content at South Ranger Station in American Fork Canyon. The Hobble Creek Summit near Springville had 54.0 inches in-ches of snow and 21.0 inches of water for 175 percent of average. Packard Canyon, east of Springville had 39.0 inches of snow and 15.0 inches in-ches of water for 179 percent per-cent of average. |
