Show Howard Maycock gets new post Howard C. Maycock, vice president, Central Bank and Trust Company, has been named state development chairman chair-man of Bank and Public Relations Re-lations and Marketing Association Associ-ation for the state of Utah. The appointment was announced an-nounced by Bank PRMA President Presi-dent Donald F. Krusell, who is chairman, Peoples Bank, Trenton, Tren-ton, Michigan. Springville man one of two listed as Idea Men' at Geneva Works The two top "Idea Men" for 1968 at Geneva Works were named at the annual Methods Improvement Club Awards Luncheon held at the Riverside Country Club and a Springville man was one of the two named. Calvin J. Baxter, city councilman, coun-cilman, and W. Floyd Young of Spanish Fork were the named winners. In all, 75 employees were honored for helping Geneva Ge-neva Works produce its best methods improvement record with a total of 822 significant cost improvement projects installed in-stalled during the year. Carl J. Forkum, assistant general superintendent, presented the awards. Mr. Baxter, pipe mill staff engineer, qualified as an "Idea Man of the Year" for improvements improve-ments he proposed himself and worked out in cooperation with others for handling and processing proces-sing short sections of large diameter pipe. As a result the pipe mill now can process large diameter pipe in lengths down to 15 feet and this in turn has increased pipe sales. Mr. Young a general turn foreman in the blast furnace, teamed up with other turn foremen fore-men to carry out projects that reduced the coke rate in the blast furnace, reduced alloy additions, ad-ditions, extended the operating life of No. Three blast furnace and assisted in maintaining the yield performance of the blast furnaces.
