Show Roger Reid signs pact to p!ay with professional baseball team named to the all Big Sky conference con-ference baseball team. During the summer of 1967 Roger played semi-pro baseball base-ball in the Basin League in South Dakota. His senior year at Weber, Roger was a member of the varsity basketball and baseball teams, both of which were Big Sky champions. He played in the NCAA District 7 championships champion-ships in both sports and he was selected by his teammates as the most valuable baseball player for 1968 and won a spot on the all-conference baseball team. . Roger has been on the college col-lege honor roll for several quarters quar-ters and was voted the outstanding out-standing student teacher award. He appeared in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities Univer-sities for 1968 . Mr. Reid is married to the Tormer Diane Gardner of Spanish Span-ish Fork. Mrs. Reid will finish her education in July and will then join her husband in South Carolina. Roger Reid, son of Mr. and Hfis. Charles L. Reid of this jity, has signed a professional baseball contract with the Atlanta At-lanta Braves. He is presently playing shortstop in the class 4. league in Greenwood, South Carolina . Mr. Reid, a June graduate of Weber State College, has completed com-pleted a very successful college col-lege career both academically and athletically. He began his higher training at the BYTJ where he played basketball and baseball. The following year he attended , College of Eastern Utah where he was a member of the varsity basketball and baseball teams and earned junior jun-ior college all-American baseball base-ball honors. , He vas chosen most inspirational basketball and baseball player of the year. Roger, who was an outstanding outstand-ing Springville high athlete, finished his last two years at Weber State where he played on both the varsity basketball and baseball teams .He received the Stevenson Multiple Sports Award in 1967 for the most outstanding athlete in more than one sport and also was N A ' Roger Reid, top athlete and scholar, now playing for A. league in South Carolina. |
