Show FtoTOf show proves ppntor Four tri-color ribbons were awarded in the Springville Flower Show held Friday and Saturday as a popular part of the Art City Days celebration at the Civic Center, in addition addi-tion to many blue, red and yellow yel-low ribbons. The tri-color ribbons were for best of the show and went to Theora Nelson for a unique Lily of the Nile; to A. I. Tippetts, Tip-petts, for best arrangement; Mary Smart, for her Permanent Wave rose and to Mrs. Lynn Alleman for a Garden City rose.' Blue ribbons were won in the rose division by Velma Nielson Gredy rose; Mamie Blackett, for Sara Bond rose; Lucille Johnson for her bouquet; Veloy Bailey, arrangements; Eva Curfew, Cur-few, snapdragons. Junior division In the junior division blue ribbons went to Jane Stewart, for Sutter's gold rose; Denise Mattinson, Unwin Dahlia; Cynthia Cyn-thia Hampton, snapdragons. Red ribbons were awarded Yvonne. Cutler for her Sharlott Armstrong; Diane Hampton, snap-dragons; Crystal Erd-mann, Erd-mann, arrangements. Yellow ribbons were placed on the entries of Nancy Wilson for her Tropicana rose; Brian Graham for arrangement. Best of the show in the junior jun-ior division honors went to Jane Stewart for Sutter's gold rose and to Denise Mattinson for Unwin Dahlia. for her Peace rose; Leo Ence, Chicago Peace; Mabel Simkins, Tropicana; Mary Smart, Mister Lincoln and Permanent Wave; Jerry Duncan, Fragrant Cloud; Mrs. Lynn Alleman, Mojave and Garden City; Mary Knittle Queen Elizabeth; Bessie Bram-all, Bram-all, three of a kind roses. Naomi Crandall received a blue ribbon for delpheniams; Mrs. Claude Smith, double Mock Orange; Glenn Bird, tuberous tu-berous Begonia; Margaret Snel-son, Snel-son, Sweet William; LaRue Wardell, Sweet Sultan; Theora Nelson, Lily of the Nile. Red ribbons in the rose division di-vision went to, Mary Sanford, for Peace rose; Mabel Simkins, Pink Peace; Velma Nielson, Tropicana; Ella Whiting, Hy-bred Hy-bred tea; Maude Harmer. Flo-rabunds; Flo-rabunds; Mary Smart, Memor-ium; Memor-ium; Donna Whitney, Sterling Silver; Mrs. H. W. Christensen, three of a kind roses. Veloy Bailey received second for miniature min-iature arrangement ; LaRue Wardell, bouquet; Donna Hut-chings, Hut-chings, arrangement; Naomi Crandall, Delphinians. Stewart, for her entry, a beautiful Sutter's gold rose. |
