Show Springville man candidate for Nebo board post Glenn W. Coffman, retired Springville Junior High teacher, teach-er, has announced his candidacy candi-dacy for the position of Nebo School District Board member representiing Area 1, which comprises voting districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 in Springville. Area 3, which comprises Springville voting districts 8, 9, and 10, all of Mapleton and districts 4 and 5 in the east part of Spanish Fork, are also entitled to a board member mem-ber and will vote this fall. Another board member will be named from area 2, which comprises districts 1 through 8 in Spanish Fork, also Leland, Palmyra, C 1 i nton, Birdseye, Colton and Thistle. Qualifications Mr. Coffman, a native of Springville, attended USU, Logan Lo-gan and received his degree from BYU in 1931. He taught 32 years in Nebo District, eight years of the time in Spanish Fork. He taught previously in Kane and Rich counties. While teaching, he did post-graduate work every five years. He retired re-tired in 1964. Active in Springville civic and church affairs, he is a member of the Kiwanis Club and the American Legion. He is Springville Stake chorister. In addition to teaching school he operated a 70-acre farm and grade A dairy business. busi-ness. He served on the Federal Land Bank 35 years. He and his wife, Beth, reside at 270 East First So. Mr. Coffman has always been interested in education and is well acquainted with the problems of the district. He has the time to devote to such problems and to analyze the role a proper education plays in the life of young people. |
