The reception was held at the Brenda Lee1 Reception Center, in Granger Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Chamberlain Chamber-lain and children of Hunter, Utah, visited her parents, Mr! and Mrs. Lyle Palmer, Saturday. Satur-day. They brought their son, Robbie's birthday cake to share with them. The birthday cake was decorated like on Indian Chief and all of the children were in Indian costumes, having hav-ing just come from his birthday birth-day party. Parents of Mrs Palmer, Mr. and Mrs. B E Behrman of Mesa, Arizona are also visiting at the Palmer Pal-mer home. They came by plane. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Houch-ins Houch-ins of Algona, Iowa, are visiting visit-ing with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wave Miguel'. They will be here about two weeks. During last week's heavy rainstrom, many people wondered won-dered where the fire was. The siren blew several different times. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Childs were hosts to members of the Anthon P. Johnson family, Sunday afternoon at their ranch in Diamond Fork Canyon. Can-yon. Forty-two family members enjoyed a delicious chicken dinner which was served buffet buf-fet style in their lovely big dining room. Tables were also al-so set in the living room and under the big shade trees on the lawn. The afternoon was spent with a ball game, horse back riding, tote gote rides, croquet and visiting. Guests included families of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Don Swenson all of Spanish Span-ish Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson, Miss Margaret Johnson John-son of Springville; and Mr. and Mrs. Blake Everett of Maple-ton. Maple-ton. Other family members and their children, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Thorn of Springville Spring-ville were on a trip to Yellowstone Yellow-stone Park and were unable to attend. Mrs. Orpha Dee Johnson was a gracious hostess to the visually vis-ually handicapped of Utah County at her home on Monday afternoon. Under the direction of Rowena Palmer, who provides pro-vides entertainment for this group each Monday, twenty-eight twenty-eight people met on the Johnson John-son patio for a lovely program and light refreshments. The program consisted of accor-dian accor-dian solos by Mrs. Lenore Blackham, she played many old familiar tunes and the group sang along with her. Mrs. Blackham's son, Morris, played a violin solo and Mrs. Matt Crandall read the poem "It Takes a Heap O' Livin' in a House to make it Home" by Edgar A. Guest. Mrs. Lois Bartholomew entertained the group with a couple of short stories and a trio, Mrs. Lenore Bills, Mrs. Merilyn Tuttle and the hostess, Mrs. Johnson, sang "My Peace I Leave with You." Many beautiful friendships are developing through this program for the visually handicapped handi-capped which is sponsored by the state. Rides are provided each Monday for anyone caring to attend these "Reading Room" programs |
